School lasts nine months.But on the other hand, school holidays last only three months. Is this appropriate? Most of people think that holidays should be longer, in order that the pupils could relax and begin the school with a lot of energy. But some people think the opposite. Let’s see the different arguments. People who think that school holidays should be longer say that during this period of time children enjoy their free time and practise their favourite activities, like playing sports or listening to music. Moreover, children can discover their interests and do activities which aren’t allowed to do in school.
On the other hand, there are people who admit that one of the most important things in children’s life is learning, for this reason we can understand that having less school holidays is better. On the whole, I think that school is very important, but we need time to relax and learn things without rules. In addition, we need holidays to forget about books and get up late. However, holiday is not a time for doing nothing, but it’s a time to think about us and do activities without the pression of school obligations.
